As part of the Explore Your Archive campaign, the Historic England Archive is holding an evening of talks where you can discover more about the aerial photographic collections held by the Archive. There will also be original Archive material for you to view. This event will feature two talks: The View from Above: the Aerial Photographic Collections of the Historic England Archive by Mike Evans. This talk will look at how our collections have developed and will show some of the highlights, from the crater left by the largest-ever explosion on British soil to Europe's best crop circle. Britain from Above: Highlights from the Aerofilms Ltd Collection by Katy Whitaker. This talk will focus on some of the best and most interesting photographs from the Aerofilms collection. From the weird to the wonderful, find out more about this fascinating collection of aerial photographs, dating from 1919, and covering the whole country. Places are limited to 50. The Historic England Archive building is largely accessible and we have parking bays for disabled visitors which can be booked by calling 01793 414700. Other parking is available in the Designer Outlet North car park (£1 for up to 5 hours).
