Ipswich Record Office holds the extensive collection of the architect’s firm of Cautley and Barefoot, and its successors, which practiced in Ipswich for most of the twentieth century. Archivist Hilary Ritchie who has catalogued the collection will give an illustrated talk about their work. Their clients included Lloyds Bank, Ipswich Borough Council, Ipswich and East Suffolk Hospital, the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich and Tollemache’s Brewery. Their work included churches, public buildings, businesses as well as private homes and ranged from St Augustine’s Church in Ipswich to Tolly Cobbold public houses and from the Bartlet Convalescent Home at Felixstowe to extensions to private houses.
