Ever wonder what (hi)stories hide behind the walls of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland? Did you know the college is nearly 250 years old and has partaken in some of the most important developments in the field of surgery & medicine in Ireland and abroad? Have you ever wondered about the close connection that RCSI has with the history and development of our capital city, Dublin? RCSI Heritage Collections offers us a glimpse into these fascinating stories within its unique collections of archives, manuscripts and medical artefacts. The collection gives us access to the story of a longstanding and reputable Irish medical and educational organisation. Susan Leyden, RCSI archivist, will be carefully incising and dissecting some of these historical collections at a public talk 1.00pm Saturday, 25th November in the Boucher-Hayes auditorium, Level 5, No. 26 York Street, Dublin 2 (RCSI’s new Academic & Education Building) To book a place for this talk please email
